SJAM is proud to invite your child to audition for the SAN JOSE CHILDREN’S CHOIR here at the SJAM. Our choir has been an integral part of of SJAM for many years, following our mission to nurture the artistic talent and expression of children in our community. Singing is a lifelong pursuit and passion. We seek to strive as a resource for education, support, repertoire, and performance standards for all genres in community choral art.
Research has shown that singing in a choir has numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being:
-It has been proven that those who participate in choirs enjoy a greater feeling of beloging and togetherness than those involved in other social activities!
– Participants learn to cooperation and how to work together, strengthening their teamwork and social skills.
– All of our students learn valuable skills such as singing and breathing techniques, movement and stage direction, phonation and resonant tone production, expression and more!
– Exposure to different types of music, such as classical, traditional, and musical productions, as well as involvement with other instruments, such as hand bells.
