GREYSON HARYANTO

Violin

Greyson Haryanto began his musical education on the piano at 4 years old. Upon attending his first orchestral concert, he found his passion for violin – beginning study at age 8.

Greyson served as Concertmaster of the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic for 3 years, performing on two international tours and graduating with a scholarship award. Winning the Young Artists Competition, he performed Mozart’s 4th violin concerto as a soloist with the orchestra. He continues to work closely with the symphony: administrative staff, co-director of the String Ensembles Summer Camp, coach in violin sectionals, and more.

An alumni of SJAM, Greyson completed M TAC’s Certificate of Merit Level 10, and received various awards from the U.S. Open Music Competition, Junior Bach Festival, and National Piano Guild. He has won additional awards in chamber music on violin in the U.S. Open and CAPMT auditions.

Since 8th grade, Greyson has enjoyed actively participating in professional ensembles, gigs, and teaching violin and piano throughout the Bay Area. He’s a violinist in the Nova Solisti Chamber Orchestra, performing in non-profit concerts among world class musicians. Greyson has experience teaching in both individual and group settings across all ages. He is pursuing violin, alongside psychology, in his college education.

Besides violin and piano, Greyson enjoys exploring his curiosities in all areas of music. He has self-taught multiple instruments; he regularly plays drums, electric bass, and piano in his church’s worship band. Greyson has a passion for community work and emphasizing the joy of music – using students’ interests and strengths to motivate technical and musical growth.
